Searching for a Personal Trainer might sound easy with a simple Google search, but finding a good Personal Trainer for yourself would require a few extra things to take note of.

1. Does Your Personal Trainer have any Client Testimonials?

2. What Certifications does Your Personal Trainer have?


Personal Trainers are required to be certified by an accredited body, and it would be a big added benefit if they are certified in First Aid as well. A few recognized organizations in Singapore are:

If you need special attention to certain requirements, such as exercising with an injury, during, or after pregnancy, do keep a look out for those certifications as well. On the other hand, if you are looking to get into specific workouts like calisthenics or bodybuilding, do make sure they have the experience as you wouldn’t want to pay for a package under a trainer not knowing what you’re going through.

Although it is common to find a Personal Trainer through word-of-mouth, do ensure that his/her expertise aligns with your fitness goals. As much as certifications are important, choose a trainer that can help you achieve YOUR goals as everyone's fitness journeys are different. For example, a trainer who specialises in Calisthenics may not be the best fit for you if you are aiming to bulk up!

Firstly, it is important to take note of the communication and rapport between the Personal Trainer and yourself. They should be able to address your concerns and explain their approach. Positive reinforcement will also make sessions more enjoyable and productive. Your trainer should be someone you feel comfortable with and motivated by.


Secondly, your Personal Trainer should be able to assess your fitness levels, medical history and goals to craft a regime for you. As there is no one size fit all workout program for everyone, it would be best if you could avoid a Personal Trainer who does similar routine for all his clients of different fitness goals.


Lastly, the trial is a good opportunity to experience the trainer's training style, teaching methods and overall approach. Inquire about how the trainer plans to track your progress. A Personal Trainer should regularly assess your performance and adjust your fitness program accordingly to ensure you're making meaningful progress. Also, don't hesitate to ask questions about the trainer's training philosophy, approach to nutrition, and how they handle injuries or setbacks. After giving you a tour of the gym, our trainer will use the next 15 minutes to get to know you better, such as understanding your goals, exercise history, past injuries, diet and more. You will also have access to a free InBody Analysis by our InBody Machine, where you can find out your weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass etc. Your trainer will then customise a program for you and take you through a workout session. During the workout, your trainer will assess your foundations and fitness level accordingly.


After which, if you are fond of FITLUC's method and your trainer's training style together with the program that he/she has planned for you, you can decide if you would like to take up a Personal Training package with us. No obligations! :)
